Gone From Advertised Position

Gone From Advertised PositionThis is one story of an international phenomenon. It is the story of the gradual disappearance of one unique culture, one part of Canada's heritage.

These paintings are a portrayal of the loss of Newfoundland's rural outport traditional way of life. They are a study of turmoil. The images waver between certainty and uncertainty, reality and illusion, past and present. Through varying degrees of representation and abstraction, the fragmented images and spatial shifts create paintings depicting the chaos of these changing times.
